Discover the different types of functions in class 12 mathematics

In Class 12 mathematics, a function is a set of ordered pairs, where each element in the set corresponds to a unique output. There are many different types of functions, including polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic. Polynomial functions are created by combining multiple terms, each of which is a power of x. For example, the function f(x) = x^3 + 2x^2 – 5x + 4 can be represented using the graph shown below.

Different types of functions 

There are three different types of functions: bijective, surjective, and injective. A bijective function is a function that is both injective and surjective. A surjective function is a function that is injective but not necessarily surjective. An injective is a function that is surjective but not necessarily bijective.

One to One Function

In mathematics, a one to one function is a function that maps each element of a set to a unique element of another set. There are several types of functions in mathematics, and one to one functions are just one type. They are often used in proofs, because they guarantee that no two elements will be mapped to the same value. In class 12 mathematics, you will learn about several different types of functions, including one to one functions.

Onto Function

A surjective function, from mathematics, is a function that “images” every element of a set (the codomain) onto another set (the domain). In other words, for every element in the codomain there exists at least one corresponding element in the domain such that the function assigns that element to it. Surjective functions are also called “onto functions”.

There are various types of functions, but surjective functions are a particularly important type. They are used, for example, when studying relations between sets. If one wants to know whether two sets are equal or not, one might use a surjection to see if every element in one set is also found in the other set.

One interesting property of surjective functions is that they are always injective as well.
